Troy Arnold

My name is Troy Arnold, and I’m a writer from Austin, TX by way of Hartford, CT. When I’m not checking out a concert in town, or sipping the finest of bourbons at a local watering hole, I’m watching a movie, writing about movies, or telling someone about my favorite movies. In between, I’m trying to figure out this thing called life, Cory Matthews style.

My health is being practical. I’ve never tried to attain the “perfect” physique, or compete at the Crossfit games. My approach to health has always been one of personal everyday goals. Essentially, I believe in trying to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. Run a little faster during social football leagues. Read a little more each month.

Sometimes, I find just having a destination in mind isn’t enough, you need a roadmap to show how to get there, and all necessary stops along the way. As part of the “In Our Own Skin” collection, I’ll be writing about navigating personal health goals, healthy eating on a budget, and everyday mental health care. I can’t speak for everyone, but what I can do is share what has, and hasn’t worked for me on my on journey for health and happiness, my past ups and downs, along with goals for the future.
